Traveling to Orcas Island, WA

Our wedding venue is located on Orcas Island, WA, about 3 ½  hours north of Seattle.

For most, getting there will involve a road trip north to Anacortes, WA, and a beautiful ferry ride through the San Juan Islands.

Driving From Seattle

  1. Drive to Anacortes

Drive north on I-5 towards the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. If possible, plan ahead to estimate the driving time based on traffic/time of day. Traffic moving north is busiest between 3-6pm.

Driving time: 1.5 - 2 hours

2. Board the Ferry

When you arrive at the Ferry Terminal, follow signs to line up for Orcas Island. The ride is about an hour long and will require a reservation for each vehicle. If you plan on taking a vehicle to the island, we recommend booking your ferry reservations as soon as possible!

Separate reservations will be needed for the way there and the way back. If the trips you want are not available, don’t fret! Additional spaces will open up 2 weeks prior to your sailing date, and more will open up 2 days prior. On those dates, we strongly recommend you be ready to book your reservation at 7am Pacific Time. Spaces fill up quickly!

Plan to arrive at the terminal 45-60 minutes before your scheduled ferry departure (if you don’t check-in at least 30 minutes before departure, you may lose your reservation).

Once you’re on the ferry, head up to the passenger and enjoy the view! It’s a gorgeous ride!

3. Welcome to Orcas Island!

The hard part is over! Enjoy a leisurely drive along the winding hills of Orcas Island. We recommend downloading directions before you arrive on the island, as cell service can be spotty. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes from the Orcas Ferry Terminal.

Venue Address: 271 Sunset Ave, Eastsound, WA (20 min drive from Ferry Terminal)

Camp Moran address: 4600 Olga Rd, Olga, WA (25 min drive)

Ferry Information & FAQs

Orcas Island is only accessible via ferry. If you plan to bring a vehicle to the island, a reservation is strongly recommended as available spaces fill up quickly in the summer. Key information:

  • Reservations can be made here.

  • Two separate reservations are required: One for the way there (Anacortes to Orcas Island) and one for the way back.

  • Ferry schedule for Aug 22-24, 2025:

  • Reservations can be made at any time, though some spaces for the weekend of our wedding are currently unavailable. More spaces will be made available two weeks prior to each sailing date. If there are no available spaces for the ferry you hope to take, we strongly recommend you plan to book your reservations two weeks out right 7am Pacific Time (10am Eastern) as they fill up quickly.

  • When booking a reservation, you will be asked to provide information about the height and length of your vehicle. Most standard vehicles will be “Under 22 feet” in length and “Up to 7’2” tall.”

  • The round-trip fee for a ferry ticket is $51.65 per car, plus $16.50 per passenger. You won’t pay until you are in line to board the ferry. Walking on does not require a reservation, but does still require a $16.50 ticket.

  • Plan to arrive at each Ferry Terminal at least 45-60 minutes prior to the departure time. If you arrive less than 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure, your reservation may be cancelled.

  • Each ferry trip is roughly 60-75 minutes
